PSC Extends Written Comment Period for CP Crane

Great news! Today, the Maryland Public Service Commission granted Gunpowder Riverkeeper’s and others request for an extension to the written comment period for the public to comment on their interests the CP Crane power plant application.

As stated in the letter above, the (new) deadline to submit written comments is now May 3, 2019. Comments should be addressed to: Terry J. Romine, Executive Secretary, Maryland Public Service Commission, RE: Case No. 9482, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor , Baltimore, 21202

The Public Service Commission is deciding on a Certificate of Public Need and Necessity (CPCN) that would allow the “repowering” of the C.P. Crane Generating Station located between Seneca creek and Saltpeter creek at Middle River Neck. Gunpowder Riverkeeper has been commenting on discharges from this facility since 2011 and is concerned that the application for the CPCN before the Public Service Commission should not be approved in its current form. If you are interested in the past and any potential future impacts of the plant please let your voice be heard by May 3.
