Good afternoon,

As mentioned in our meeting [January 14th], the public comment period for the proposed statewide stormwater regulations has been officially extended to January 30th.

These regulations will shape how our state manages water runoff for years to come. By participating, you help ensure that the final rules are equitable, effective, and protective of our shared natural resources.

This extension provides a critical window to ensure local concerns are heard. Because stormwater management directly impacts water quality, infrastructure, and flood resilience, thorough community feedback is vital.

Details regarding the proposed changes are available in a prerecorded informational session, which can be found at this link: https://youtu.be/hXkrO9oargg?si=lErDzXButGy-_xln

Additionally, a virtual informational session will be held on January 20th at 6:00 PM. You can access the meeting via this link: https://meet.google.com/kwt-kikj-sop

The deadline to submit formal written comments is January 30th. Comments may be submitted via email at mde.swmregulations@maryland.gov, or by mail:
