We have moved the date to remove the Forsythia to Tuesday, June 25th from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at Sparks Nature Center 1207 Sparks Rd., Sparks, MD 21152
We hope to have a large group of volunteers that day! Since it will be late in June, it should be a nice time to take a walk on the trail – next to the Nature Center.
Join members of the Gunpowder Falls State Park Maryland Conservation Corps, Maryland Park Service Rangers, NCR Trail & Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER volunteers for a work day to improve the grounds around the Sparks Bank Nature Center!
Projects will include cutting/uprooting invasive Forsythia bushes, cleaning debris from the parking lot and trail bridge, as well as maintaining an outdoor bulletin board.
Please wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, closed toe shoes, and bring water, snacks, and sunscreen. If volunteers have any hand pruners, loppers, gardening gloves, or rubber boots of their own, please bring them as well. There will be other materials and tools provided by park staff.
If you are able to attend, please send a confirmation email to Erin Adams, Volunteer Coordinator at Sparks Bank Nature Center at eadams.spnc@gmail.com by Wednesday, June 19th.
