Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER welcomes our 2024 Environmental Science Fellow from Morgan State University

Chichedo Duru is a Bioenvironmental Science PhD student who joined Morgan State University in August 2023. She is a passionate environmentalist with a focus on Bioremediation, Air and Water Quality Management, Climate and Land Use Change, Plant Ecology, and Ecosystem Protection and Restoration. She is enthusiastic about assisting the Gunpowder Riverkeeper in enhancing the monitoring and understanding of water quality issues impacting the waterways and communities in the Gunpowder, Bird, Bush, and Middle River areas.

Driven by a fervent commitment to environmental sustainability, Chichedo actively pursues innovative, eco-friendly solutions to address pressing environmental challenges.

Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER® Welcomes 2024 Skidmore College Intern

Colson Warren, a rising junior at Skidmore College, is joining Gunpowder Riverkeeper for the summer of 2024.

Majoring in Environmental Science, Colson has a particular interest in watershed management within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Colson is excited to bring his background in watershed management, education, community outreach, and graphic design to aid in the conservation and restoration of the Gunpowder River Watershed. He has worked on building rain gardens with Howard Ecoworks and has been involved in education and outreach around sustainability initiatives on Skidmore College’s campus. The Environmental Sciences department at Skidmore College is sponsoring Colson for his time spent at Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER® through their Summer Experience Fund.
