Chesapeake Bay Trust – Climate Corps Programs

The Chesapeake Bay Trust is excited to share that applications for the 2026–27 Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps (CCCC) are now OPEN! The deadline to apply is Friday, March 6, 2026 at 4:00 PM — and we’d love to see an application from you!

The Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps is designed for emerging professionals ages 18–25 who want to jump-start a career in the environmental field. Whether you’re just getting started, exploring new interests, or looking to build real-world experience, this program opens doors across the Chesapeake Bay watershed by connecting you with mission-driven Host Organizations across the state of Maryland.

As a Corps Member, you’ll:

  • Gain hands-on experience at a nonprofit or government agency
  • Receive professional development training, leadership coaching, and mentorship
  • Build your network through events and community connections
  • Join a supportive cohort of peers who are also launching their careers
  • Serve full time, for one year with a $33,280 annual stipend

For the 2026–27 term, we expect to place around 80 Corps Members in roles focused on climate action, environmental restoration, environmental education, forestry, sustainable agriculture, energy conservation, community engagement, and more. It’s a chance to make real impact while growing your skills.

This year Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER® is one of the many potential Host Organizations for the 2026-27 Corps program. If successfully matched with Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER® you would have the opportunity to participate in water quality monitoring; educate your community on water issues; learn how to advocate for a community’s needs; engage with community members and leaders in-person and on social media; engage in citizen-science with partners like Chesapeake Water Watch, SAV Watchers, Izaak Walton League; and connect with community members in the Sparks Bank Nature Center and on the Torrey C. Brown trail.
