Downstream of the Philadelphia Road overpass of Bynum Run.

Ashley Paul’s article on CBS provided updates on August 7th, 2026 on the raw sewage that leaked into Bynum Run last week from ruptured sewer lines. She quotes Ronya Nassar, of the Harford County Health Department, who said:

“Out of an abundance of caution, we’re just recommending people don’t go into that water. We recommended the seven day extension, we’re going to test the water again next week and we’ll see how that goes and then we’ll see if we need to recommend another extension for that signage.”

Paul’s article notes that the health department is asking people to stay out of the water until at least August 13.
